Chicago will become the center of Karol G’s world this weekend when the Colombian superstar launches her massive Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour with back-to-back performances at Soldier Field.

The tour’s first concerts are scheduled for this week, Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25, giving Chicago fans the first look at what its promoters have described as Karol G’s most ambitious and immersive live production to date. Both shows begin at 7 p.m., with Venezuelan singer-songwriter Elena Rose joining Karol G as the special guest.

Karol G will use Soldier Field to introduce the tour to the world. That adds another layer of anticipation to a pair of concerts that were already among the biggest Latin music events on Chicago’s summer calendar.

The scale of the Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour makes the opening weekend even more significant. Announced following Karol G’s history-making performances as the first Latina artist to headline Coachella, the yearlong tour includes more than 39 stadium concerts across North America, Latin America and Europe.

After leaving Chicago, Karol G will visit stadiums throughout the United States and Canada before traveling through Latin America during the winter. The tour will eventually conclude with a European stadium run in the summer of 2027, including performances in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, London, Amsterdam and Milan.

The extensive itinerary and stadium-only scope make Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour Karol G’s biggest tour to date, a remarkable next step after the success of her record-breaking Mañana Será Bonito World Tour. That previous trek sold more than 2.3 million tickets across 62 performances, grossed more than $300 million and ended with four sold-out concerts at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Her new production will be built around Tropicoqueta, Karol G’s 2025 album and her fourth consecutive release to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. The project also recorded the largest U.S. streaming week ever for a Latin album by a woman, further demonstrating how quickly Karol G’s audience has expanded beyond the traditional boundaries of Latin music.

Fans can expect the colorful world and varied Latin influences of Tropicoqueta to shape the new show, alongside selections from a catalog that includes global hits such as “Tusa,” “Provenza,” “Bichota” and “TQG.” Although the complete production and setlist will remain a mystery until Friday night, Karol G’s recent stadium tours and Coachella performances suggest that Chicago can expect a large-scale visual spectacle designed for the biggest venues in the world.

The Soldier Field concerts arrive at another high point in Karol G’s career. In addition to her historic Coachella appearance, she has accumulated more than 117 billion career streams, earned more than 310 RIAA Platinum certifications in the United States and became the first woman to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a Spanish-language album when Mañana Será Bonito topped the chart.

Now she will begin her next chapter along Chicago’s lakefront.
