Chicago’s own, Chance The Rapper, put his money were his mouth is today, as the ‘No Problem’ rapper will donate $1,000,000 to Chicago Public Schools (CPS), citing the Windy City’s children as its most valuable resource.
The news of this donation, which was live broadcasted earlier this morning, follows Chance The Rapper’s meeting with Illinois’ Governor Bruce Rauner last week, which did not end on the best of terms, to say the least. Chance told the press, following the meeting, that Rauner gave especially vague answers to Chance’s questions on CPS funding.
As opposed to giving up, Chance The Rapper’s huge donation today will certainly help Chicago Public Schools’ arts programs for years to come, and will hopefully inspire others to match Chance’s donations and commitment.
