Vic Mensa

The last Chicago native on our list, who will join Sir The Baptist, Common and Jeremih as the star local talent for the festival, is SAVE MONEY’s Vic Mensa. While Mensa definitely had a following, especially in Chicago, after he left his band, Kids These Days, to pursue a solo career, Mensa has really erupted in the rap scene since he appeared on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo record, ‘Waves’. Today, Mensa is one of the most political minds in music today, and his newest project, There’s Alot Going On, spits a message instead of a bunch of witty bars about nothing. Mensa delivered one of the most powerful performances at Lollapalooza this year, just a couple miles east of Union Park, and expect him to do the same for his city this month.
