‘Submission Showcase’ is a weekly column where we go through songs submitted to us and showcase the best ones. If you’d like to submit music to us, find out how to here.
Level & Tyson – Tied Up
Yay! This first submission comes from Norweigan noise-pop outfit Level & Tyson. Titled ‘Tied Up’, the first single from their forthcoming album ‘Gruesome Twosome’ has the instrumentation of an old Gorillaz track, mixed with some lo-fi but still noisy vocals to create such a good track which I really find hard to describe. I mean, I like it, so you should like it too, as always. Take a listen below, and buy it on iTunes if you have the money.
Biz – What You LIke (Feat. Cory Jones)
Chicago-based rapper Biz (What is it with all these rappers from Chicago?) links up with Cory Jones for this club-type track produced by Komo Beatz. ‘What You Like’ is reminiscent of Tyga and YG, with a DJ Mustard type beat and club-inspired lyrics. The hook is nice too.
Walter West – Doug Funnie’s Principal
I don’t even know what this is. Self-confessed nerd/comedian/rapper? Walter West (Can’t find his Twitter) raps over this yodel-type sample beat talking about everything from Drake, to Ferguson, to Bill Cosby, to Yoshi. Enjoy, I think.
