Submission Showcase: February 23rd – March 1st 2015

BY JAKE WILLS-BENNETT

‘Submission Showcase’ is a weekly column where we go through songs submitted to us and showcase the best ones. If you’d like to submit music to us, find out how to here.

Phil Swish – Asic Flow [Prod. By Ashton Woods]

Detroit rapper Phil Swish‘s Asic Flow is 4 minutes of pure fire. With great delivery and flow, as well as 78 thousand (yes, thousand) plays on Soundcloud, I’m not sure how this guy isn’t signed. The production is solid too. Check him out on Soundcloud, and listen to Asic Flow below.

Short Skirts – All Sliced Up

We need more Alternative submissions. These are incredible. Norweigan surf-punk band Short Skirts‘ All Sliced Up is a track that’s bursting to the brim with energy, something that would probably find it’s way onto a skate video soundtrack. The mixing for this track is incredible, something that most of our submissions lack. (Advice to all submissions: mix your tracks!) Bonus points for the guitar solo too. Check it out below.

Slow Turismo – Corners

Australian indie-alternative-you-name it band Slow Turismo has provided us with their new single, ‘Corners’. This track features a variety of instruments, starting off as if it were a folk track, moving into a full band section, then a bizarre synth-poppy part. It sounds incredible. The outro comes together very nicely too. As always, take a listen below.
