‘Submission Showcase’ is a weekly column where we go through songs submitted to us and showcase the best ones. If you’d like to submit music to us, find out how to here.
Aaron Parnell Brown – Just Leave
Kicking off our submissions for this week is Philadelphia-based soul singer Aaron Parnell Brown. His new single, ‘Just Leave’, is a four-and-a-half minute masterpiece, with great vocals from Aaron and an incredible backing band too. The electric piano solo is crazy good also. Check it out below. and look out for Aaron’s new album, ‘The Tin Man’, set to drop this Spring.
Thaahum – Anakin’s Prayer Episode II: The Star Warrior (Feat. MeLa Machinko)
Our next submission (With probably the longest track name ever) comes from Arizonian rapper Thaahum. ‘Anakin’s Prayer’, features references to Anakin (a really nice touch), a dope hook, sung by MeLa Machinko, and a funky beat which helps provide a background for Thaahum’s bars which literally set the track on fire. Listen below, and be sure to check out his Bandcamp page.
Ben Tenason – Firecrackers (Feat. You-C) [Prod. By CHVLLY]
This final submission comes from Chicago artist Ben Tenason. Produced by CHVLLY, ‘Firecrackers’ is a song that I can only describe as ‘experimental drill’. He has the flow of a drill artist on the track, over some really unique production, which definitely compliments the flow that Ben uses. The track also features a verse from fellow (smartly named) artist You-C, who drops by to spit some flames. As always, check it out below, and peep Ben’s Soundcloud for more music.
