‘Submission Showcase’ is a weekly column where we go through songs submitted to us and showcase the best ones. If you’d like to submit music to us, find out how to here.
Kaydee – Scattered Thoughts (Pt. 1)
We’ve featured Toronto-based artist Kaydee before, but he’s back again with a new single to start off the new year. ‘Scattered Thoughts’ is a track where Kaydee reflects on how he’s developed as a rapper over a really smooth, jazz-influenced beat, which also features some nice female vocals, courtesy of WXLA. Check it out below, and stream his newest project, ‘The Transition’ here.
Jay Hoj – C.R.C.R.
California native, rapper Jay Hoj raps over a Harry Fraud beat for his track ‘C.R.C.R.’ Check out more of his music on his official SoundCloud.
Hadji – HONY [Prod. By Fate]
We had originally featured Hadji as a guest verse in a previous Submission Showcase, but here he is again, this time as a solo artist. ‘HONY’ is the first single off of the 19 year-old’s forthcoming mixtape, ‘The Queen’s Renaissance’, which drops this Spring. Produced by Fate, who has also made music with the likes of Blu, as well as many others, ‘HONY’ is a track of two perspectives, the first being a Wall Street banker who is unhappy with his life, and the second being a rapper with little to no money. Some really nice storytelling in this one.
Klassik – Andromeda (Feat. BoneLang)
Milwaukee-based rapper Klassik‘s new self-produced single, ‘Andromeda’, features some great verses including a feature from fellow rapper BoneLang, as well as some smooth singing on the hook, all of which fit nicely over the unique production. Check it out below, and look out for his new EP, ‘WINTER’, which drops on January 15th.
