It may have just been through a Tweet, but Kid Cudi just called out the current state of rap music.

“Anyone and everyone can rap now. Its not an impressive field to be in anymore.” – Kid Cudi

Is this a shot at rappers today? Or is it just an observation about how internet has changed the music scene? Certainly rap music is an art but can anyone do it now-a-days? There is definitely a clear contrast between a rapper like Kanye West and some kid who starts his own Soundcloud page, but there may be a good amount of truth to what Cudi is saying. Either way, it will be interesting to see what comes next for Kid Cudi. The Cleveland-native has always pursued other endeavors, such as acting on television and film. But then again, can’t “anyone and everyone” act also?

  1. Ya, anyone but you. Sure anyone can rap but it doesn’t make them good at it. Anyone can sing and anyone can strum strings and beat drums, so what? Sounds like someone’s struggling to stay relevant…
