Bay Area multi-instrumentalist Derrick Martin provides us with this uplifting new single. ‘Paper Plate’ is almost like one man band-indie mixed with a little hint of Latino. It’s a really nice track, and the bongos are a great touch too. Reminds me of something you’d hear in a montage.

Heartless – We On Our Way
Illinois based rapper Heartless’ recent cut ‘We On Our Way’ is a real deep track. The smooth flow and soulful beat both come together to carry across a message that Heartless is on his way to the top, regardless of what others say. I like it.
Leonardo DaVinchi – Last September/September 15th
WHEW. This cut from New York artist Leonardo DaVinchi features an RnB hook over an ambient-electro-y instrumental which (and I still can’t believe this) switches up into a Pound Cake remix. Clocking in at almost 7 minutes long, this is a track that will certainly be getting a lot more plays.

Jayar – Dream Chasing
Chicago rapper Jayar‘s intro to his new mixtape, ‘The Come Up’ features an intro which utilises the Dreams And Nightmares intro’s beat-switch to spit some heat. The mixing of the track is real nice too. Stream the track (and the rest of the mixtape) below.
