Apple and the band U2 are teaming up to bring an absolutely new musical experience to Apple users via a new digital music format designed to enhance the music listening experience.

Apple and U2 have a digital music format in the works that they deem so irresistible that they expect it to lower the piracy rate of big name albums and singles to come in the near future. Bono, the lead singer of U2, has described the upcoming format asĀ “an audiovisual interactive format for music that can’t be pirated, and will bring back album artwork in the most powerful way”.

The new music format is also said to be able to help less well known artists and artists who do not get the amount of money that U2 does from a live performance for example. Almost nothing is known about what these two have in collaboration for music listeners around the world, but they did state that we could expect the launch of the new music format in about 18 months. We at The ER cannot wait to see what they have in store for us.
