Lana Del Rey took to Twitter to address Frances Bean Cobain’s response to her comments about Cobain’s father Kurt Cobain and death.
In an interview with The Guardian, Lana Del Rey was quoted saying “I wish I were dead already”, which received a lot of backlash from Lana since the interview’s release. In the sit down, Lana felt that the interviewer was leading her into a certain response, after he noticed that a lot of her family artist’s have died young. Although Lana noted that she liked the artists for their music and not the fact that they died at an early age, she did say that she wishes she were dead already. I speak for fans everywhere when I say she is the only one who wishes such a fate for her. Of these artists includes Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain.
Instantly Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, responded in opposition to Lana’s take on death, reminding us that she will never know her father because he died young. Lana Del Rey has sense responded to the tweet, clearing up her side of the story and paying homage to Kurt Cobain’s music. Check out the exchange below.
