Kacey Musgraves’ performance at Weekend One of Austin City Limits 2022 was nothing short of magical. As the Texas native took the stage at Zilker Park, the air was thick with anticipation, and she did not disappoint. Musgraves delivered a performance that was both intimate and electrifying, solidifying her status as a must-see live act.

Opening with “star-crossed,” Musgraves set the tone for an evening that was as much about emotional resonance as it was about musical virtuosity. Her voice, clear and emotive, floated effortlessly over the festival grounds, drawing the audience into her world. The transition into “good wife” showcased her ability to blend personal storytelling with universal themes, a hallmark of her songwriting prowess.

The setlist was a well-curated mix of tracks from her latest album, “star-crossed,” and fan favorites from her earlier work. Songs like “Butterflies” and “Golden Hour” were met with enthusiastic cheers, their uplifting melodies and heartfelt lyrics resonating deeply with the crowd. One of the standout moments of the night was her performance of “Rainbow.” The song’s hopeful message and stripped-down arrangement allowed Musgraves’ vocal talent to shine, bringing many in the audience to tears. It was a poignant reminder of her gift for crafting songs that speak to the human experience in profound ways.

“Camera Roll” and “Justified” were other highlights, with their introspective lyrics and lush arrangements showcasing Musgraves’ growth as an artist. The visuals, including stunning light displays and carefully crafted stage design, complemented the music perfectly, enhancing the overall experience.

Musgraves’ stage presence was a masterclass in balancing charisma with authenticity. She engaged with the audience through genuine smiles, light-hearted banter, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude. It was clear she was at home on stage, and her comfort translated into a seamless, captivating performance.
