6. Nick Jonas

He’s just going to be finishing up a tour on the 3rd of July, so what’s to say he won’t swing by Summerfest for a night? He will be in tour mode already, so the segway into another one, will feel nothing but natural, as it typically goes for any musician. Nick Jonas has had a big last few years, being undoubtedly the most consistent of the three brothers since their split into solo careers. He also holds a hell of a lot of crowd drawing power after a recent string of Hollywood appeal in the realms of television and film. I could definitely see Summerfest coordinators bringing in someone like Nick to diversify the crowd age and reflect their ability to cater to people of all ages and interests.
7. Coldplay

Another closing bet for a Summerfest headliner somewhere in the last few nights. Coldplay will just be finishing their UK tour on the 6th of July and if there is one thing I know about musicians, it is very rarely that they pass at an opportunity to headline one of the biggest festivals in the world. Coldplay is known for their ability to command their live shows and put on an experience rather than a concert. Don’t be surprised if the group makes an appearance at Summerfest even with their incredibly busy Summer schedule and if they do, put all judgements you may have aside. And. Go. See. Their. Show.
8. J. Cole

Moving from festival to festival is a genius level move for musicians. The capacity is generally two to five times larger (definitely an estimated number) than a typical concert venue and even those who can’t make it to that artist’s particular show will surely hear about it and see it in the brochure. Now, J. Cole would be another artist hot of the Bonnaroo train and seeing as Summerfest hasn’t announced any rap/hip-hop artists yet and had Kendrick last year and Outkast the year before, I’m getting that tingling sensation that one is right around the corner. After the recent release of the Revenge of the Dreamers 2, collaborative album, it’s hard to say what Cole has planned for 2016 but with a album-less 2015, 2016 seems like a good bet for another solo release.
9. Guns N’ Roses

With potential new music on the way and over 20 stadium performances being hinted at for 2016, GNR could be a left-field bet for Summerfest. It may seem more likely that they would tour at the end of the year or starting in 2017, but with news of their resurrection from the purgatory of musical retirement, it won’t be long before venues are contacting the band’s managing team to try and book them around the country as soon as they can.
10. LCD Soundsystem

Confirmed headliners for 2016 all over the U.S. and the U.K., it’s definitely a viable and opportune option for Summerfest to host the group. The day after they announced their attachment to Coachella, they also broke the silence on plans to drop a new album at some undetermined point this year. Without any new music since 2010, it is hard to not get excited about news regarding their phoenix-like return from the ashes of fame and separation.
